Aruba – Mobile First Network eBook

The Benefits of a Mobile-First Network

mobile-first-network-ebook-imageThe explosion of smartphones, tablets, cloud-based applications, and the Internet of Things has changed the nature of work. This new mobile-first environment is mostly a good thing for small and midsize businesses (SMBs).

Forbes reported SMBs that adopt mobile technologies see double the revenue growth and create up to eight times as many jobs as their less mobile-ready peers.  Small businesses alone save over $67 billion a year using mobile apps, tablets, and smartphones.

In fact, 67% of the SMBs are using tablets for business purposes, and 93% are using employee-owned smartphones.

But too often, networks—even networks that are just a few years old—simply aren’t robust or flexible enough to keep up with the demands of a mobile environment.

Palo Alto – The “Patient Zero” Problem and the Need for Modern Endpoint Protection

IDC Technology Spotlight

idc-technology-spotlight-image

Today’s digital transformation reality differs greatly from the cyber reality of the recent past. Current signature-based defenses provide little protection in a world of malware with singular targets, referred to as the “patient zero effect.” This paper from IDC, a premier global provider of market intelligence, examines modern endpoint protection, describing how the evolution of malware has created a need for a modernized approach to endpoint protection. It also looks at the role of Palo Alto Networks Traps offering in this critical market.

In the PC era, endpoint security was based on signatures. Virus and other malware signatures are essentially digital patterns of malicious code. Signature-based approaches were conceptually simple: Security products such as antivirus would scan files for signatures of known malware and subsequently block those known malicious files.
