Heidelberg Distributing is a long time customer of Laketec’s. They have eight locations that we provided communication systems for and continue to support all of the sites.
Hiedelberg was looking for a turnkey Communications System that was VOIP enabled, state of the art and reliable. Some of the triggers for their IT director were ease of administration and minimal intrusion to their operation. Both of those objectives were met with the implementation of the ShoreTel platform. The installation required teaming with the Carrier that created some challenges which were worked behind the scenes to assure cut dates were met without fail. Since this was a brand new facility, Laketec also installed cabling throughout the building to customer specs including a new data rack to mount the switches and phone system.

Hartville Hardware
Hartville Hardware has relied on Laketec to provide Communications systems since 2010. Branded products that Laketec designed, installed and supports are: Datel Call accounting, Avaya IP Office Telephone systems, Spectralink wireless handsets, HP switching, Palo Alto firewalls, Aruba Wireless Access points, and VMware for virtualization. In short, Laketec is the go-to provider of state of the art voice and network applications for the ever expanding Hartville Hardware campus.
As a World Class retailer, this is a customer who must be up and running to ensure a positive experience for their end customers across the hardware store, kitchen, and marketplace. With guest wifi, point of sale, inventory, phone communication, and paging all impacting their customers on a minute by minute basis, this networks stability is mission critical. This is the number one design criteria for every project we engage on with the IT Hartville team.

The Center for Digestive Health
The Center for Digestive Health has offices in Willoughby, Mentor and Madison Ohio. They are leading health providers for all areas related to the digestive organs and potential diseases related to them. Five local hospitals rely on The Center for Digestive Health for the screening and prevention of colon cancer.
Because of the critical care that the doctors provide, it is extremely important to be able to receive time bound calls live, gather information through voice mail, and have outbound and inbound communications function in an often critical scenario. Laketec worked with the Doctors and staff to meet their office-wide needs as well as the unique requirements of the Doctor and staff.
The Center for Digestive Heath has been in a growth mode over the past 11 years. To that end, every location was designed and implemented to mirror and support the main location in Willoughby. The doctors are often on the road or at locations in various northeastern Ohio Hospitals. Their ability to have communications anywhere and anytime is priority one. The IP office, the DID’s, and voice mail set up allows for communications that work for all three Centers.

Bedford City School District
Bedford Schools, located in Bedford and Bedford Heights, Ohio is a full service K-12 Educational facility schools that has state of the art learning labs, multiple paths to success and leading edge technology. Their mission is to create a safe and secure learning environment for their students and to prepare them to become responsible resourceful adults in any walk of life they pursue. To that end, the school staff concentrates on meeting all State standards as they relate to achievement of Common Core Standards. Laketec was able to coordinate disparate brands of Access points into a functioning Network through the use of Aruba’s Airwave product.
Bedford Local Schools presented some very specific goals to Laketec. We in turn then designed and implemented solutions to meet those parameters. The highlights were to make the Access points all work as one network regardless of the manufacturer or release ages of the hardware. The specific hardware we supplied were Aruba Wireless access points and the Airwave Management Monitoring Software. In the end all students and staff have access to the internet and Wi-Fi. As with all aged school buildings many tweaks and adjustments needed to be made that eventually assured that all areas of the buildings were covered with correct signal strengths.

South Euclid-Lyndhurst City School District
South Euclid-Lyndhurst was a great opportunity for Laketec and Avaya to demonstrate the full capabilities of shortest path bridging (SPB) combined with a Server Edition phone system deployed across a campus environment. The switch fabric has given the district’s network unparalleled speed and reliability while reducing the management time for Administrators when changes are necessary. SEL is a banner example of what Software Defined Networking can do when properly designed, deployed, and supported.
Magnificat High School
Magnificat High School is an all-girls private Catholic High School located in Rocky River, Ohio. One has to only enter the building to see that the absolute best education that can be achieved is the mantra for the institution.
Their mission is to “educate young women holistically to learn, lead, and serve in the Spirit of Mary’s Magnificat.” The Laketec role there was to provide a best of breed communications system which is in accordance with the school’s policy of being first class in every way.
Our specific solution was the Avaya IP office. The needs of the students, faculty and staff led us to the design of a phone system, that was reliable, simple to use and administer and had a good overhead paging interface. The training and installation went without incident and the staff is more than pleased.
The Magnificat project show cased a lot of areas for Laketec. The first stage of the project was to refresh their existing vintage Nortel voice telephone system. Due to age, the system was no longer supported by the manufacturer and replacement parts were becoming scarce. In short, it was time for a refresh. In the deployment of the new Avaya IP office phone system we replaced all existing phones with new Avaya IP phones. Included in stage 1 we installed a few new data switches along with programming a new voice VLAN on all data switches. In stage 2, we added new Avaya IP phones to all classrooms to enhance emergency communications with the classrooms. Previously there were no classroom phones at all. In stage 3, we integrated to a new paging system to enhance campus wide communications.
We are proud to be associated with Magnificat and consider them to be a showcase customer.
